The Key is a name synonymous with a foe to the JLA. The original was a former scientist in Intergang, who used powerful psychotropic drugs to enhance his intelligence, even taking it further to awaken new senses until they drove him mad. When he was sealed away in a stillness thanks to Manitou Dawn, a successor would appear, having followed his mentor's notes, but with some better control over his newfound gifts, also antagonizing the Justice League and other heroes as he seeks to unlock the secrets of the universe.
