A brilliant surgeon and scientist, Niles Caulder grew up wanting to make the world a better place. He also felt ostracized after he had been paralyzed by the infamous General Immortus, which led him to find individuals who had suffered terrible tragedy, bringing them together as the Doom Patrol. However, in spite of beliefs Niles had caused their accidents, he had been substituted by his twin brother, Miles, who resented Niles but couldn't out and out kill him. When discovered on Oolong Island, Niles comes to find a world different than he knew... and reputation and bonds to reform as he aids the Doom Patrol with his genius.
