In life, Cyrus Gold was a notorious gangster, until the night he was murdered in Slaughter Swamp. The Parliament of Trees, the governing body of the Green, attempted to resurrect him as a Swamp Thing, but without fire taking his life, Cyrus was reborn as a near-mindless zombie, taking his new name of Solomon Grundy from the nursery rhyme. Virtually immortal as well as incredible strong, Solomon Grundy can also be revived any time he dies, being reborn in Slaughter Swamp. He has posed a threat to the JSA, the JLA, and many of Earth's superheroes over the decades. Even with Gold's soul gone, however, Grundy's curse is not done by a long shot...
