The partner and chauffeur to Sylvester Pemberton, the first Star-Spangled Kid aka Skyman, Pat Dugan used his ingenious skills in inventing to allow the duo to fight for the red, white and blue in the Seven Soldiers of Victory, until they were lost in time. In the present, Pat would marry, but his first wife would leave him to raise their son Mike alone. Eventually, Pat would remarry to Barbara Whitmore, and when his stepdaughter Courtney would find Sly's Cosmic Converter belt, he would build S.T.R.I.P.E. to be able to help Courtney as she became a superhero.
