Fan Casting Rip Hunter (Pre-Crisis) in Return to the DC Universe

Once a denizen of Earth-One in Multiverse 2, Rip Hunter had become a man out of time after the first Crisis, even as his friends had gained new counterparts, and he was replaced by another version of himself. Frantic for a time, he would soon become recruited into the Linear Men, whose mission was to safeguard the timestream. Driven mad by their deaths at the hands of Brainiac 13, Rip and the others would be cast out by the Quintessence, with "Old Rip" being sent outside of time, where his body would be healed from B13 tech as well as seeing what his new mission is, so he returns to inside time, to focus on his new mission, leading him to unite allies old and new into a new Linear Men.
