Fan Casting Red Beetle in Return to the DC Universe

Sara Butters was a brilliant engineer who had admired Ted Kord and his being the second Blue Beetle. With her knowledge, she was able to recreate Ted's costume, but to give herself some distinction, she chose red, a good parallel to blue. Sometime after Ted's death, Sara debuted as the Red Beetle, doing minor things before she came to Monument Point to help the JSA, becoming a member of their ranks, and learning the kind of legacy she now is a part of.
