Fan Casting Miss America in Return to the DC Universe

Believing she had been granted powers of transmutation by the Statue of Liberty, reporter Joan Dale would design herself a costume and become Miss America. For years, she was unaware she had been experimented on by Project M, who felt she was a failure. Over the years, Joan would be a part of the Freedom Fighters, the JSA, and the All-Star Squadron, finding love with her husband Derek and raising Lyta, their adopted daughter. Though she had hidden the fact she still had her powers for years, Joan has returned to the Freedom Fighters and as Miss America since her husband has passed to continue to fight for justice.
