Johnny Chambers was a newsreel photographer along his fat friend, Tubby Watts. His guardian, Professor Ezra Gill, discovered a papyrus he removed from a tomb in Egypt with the formula 3x2(9yz)4a. Speaking the formula aloud, Johnny's brain could tap into the Speed Force, allowing him to move at incredible speeds, where he took on the name Johnny Quick. Killed first by Savitar, then by Reverse-Flash, Johnny is resurrected by the White Light of Life during the battle with Anton Arcane, reuniting Johnny with his estranged wife Libby and their daughter Jesse, as he returns to aid the JSA.
