The son of Metamorpho and Sapphire Stagg-Mason, Joey inherited his father's powers due to Rex having been exposed to the Orb of Ra. While Rex can alter the physical properties of his own body, Joey could transmutate the nuclear properties of other objects. Born while his parents were estranged, Rex didn't know about Joey for some time, but he has come to love his son very much.
