Fan Casting Dirk Armstrong in Return to the DC Universe

Brought onboard the Daily Planet staff by then publisher and owner Franklin Stern, Dirk Armstrong has strong right-wing beliefs, being brought in to write a column in that manner. His beliefs also had led him to clash with Clark Kent and Perry White, as do Dirk's honesty in those as well as his tendency to jump to conclusions. He works hard to care for his daughter Ashbury as well. Even if he lost a leg when the Daily Planet was bombed in the Final Crisis, Dirk still presses on, determined to do what he believes is right.
