Darkseid's master inquisitor, Desaad is known for his devious nature as well as his sadism. When Darkseid's mother Queen Heggra wanted his lover Suli dead, Desaad accepted it, and almost suffered Darkseid's wrath, until he aided the God of Evil by killing his mother. With a brilliant mind, Desaad is capable of making all kinds of weaponry and torture devices for Darkseid. Though he schemes to take the throne of Apokolips for himself, Desaad has earned a unique place in Darkseid's Elite, and perhaps even a soft spot in the God of Evil's black heart.
