Fan Casting Bloodwynd II in Return to the DC Universe

The nephew of Quintus Arce, Raphael learned about his family's curse and his uncle's burden by chance. When Harvest began his experiments to awaken the metagene in the majority of humanity to study it for his goals, Raphael awoke empathic powers to absorb others' pain. By chance, he would find Felix Faust with the Justice League Task Force, and work to try to save his uncle. Though he succeeded, the Blood Gem would bond to Raphael, giving him its powers on top of his own, leading him to become the new Bloodwynd, with Quintus asking Raphael to be a better Bloodwynd than he was, with Raphael hoping he will be up to the task.
