Fan Casting Black Lightning in Return to the DC Universe

A brilliant teacher and former Olympian, Jefferson Pierce returned home to his old neighborhood of Suicide Slum in Metropolis to teach. When one of his students was killed by Tobias Whale and his gang, the 100, Jeff asked for help from an old friend of his father's, Peter Gambi, and forged a costume to use his electromagnetic powers to bring justice, like lightning, as Black Lightning, alone, as a founding member of the Outsiders, as well as in the JLA.
