Losing his father at a young age, Roy Harper grew up on a Navajo reserve until the day he had met Green Arrow, and because of his quick skills as an archer, gained the name "Speedy", becoming Ollie's partner and adopted son His time with Ollie led him to have ups and down, such as dealing with heroin abuse, as well as his becoming a father to his young daughter, Lian. Over time, Roy would break off from being Speedy, and go by Arsenal, due to his skills with many weapons as well as eventually taking on the family name as Red Arrow, before overcoming tragedy and returning to be Arsenal.
