Two years after the events of Raccoon City, Claire Redfield is captured in Paris while searching for her brother, Chris, and imprisoned on Rockfort Island, an Umbrella-owned island. Following an outbreak of the T-Virus caused by an attack by Albert Wesker's forces, Claire escapes with her cellmate Steve Burnside. They encounter the disturbed Alfred Ashford and his sister Alexia, creators of the T-Veronica virus. Meanwhile, Chris and the now-government agent Leon Kennedy embark on a mission to rescue Claire, apprehend Wesker, and end Umbrella's activities on Rockfort.
