Carole Sindermann joined the Raccoon Police Department as Chief Brian Irons secretary in February 1998. After two months, she became deeply concerned about her relationship with Irons, who was becoming ever-increasingly aggressive towards her. She later witnessed Irons bringing back a painting of a nude woman being hung from a tree, which, alongside Irons leering perversely at the painting, greatly disturbing her. Carole also stumbled upon Irons' secret bribed payments from William and Annette Birkin. She became worried as to Irons' reaction were he to ever find out, fearing for her own life. During the t-Virus outbreak, Carole was trapped inside the police station, Irons murdered her.
