Synopsis

A photographer in a wheelchair spies on his neighbors from his Greenwich Village courtyard apartment window, and becomes convinced one of them has committed murder, despite the skepticism of his fashion-model girlfriend.

He is the mysterious neighbor of L.B. "Jeff" Jefferies, the protagonist of the film, and is portrayed by actor Raymond Burr.Thorwald is initially seen as a suspect in a possible murder that Jeff witnesses from his apartment window. He is portrayed as a dark and menacing figure, with a gruff demeanor and a rough, unshaven appearance.
