Synopsis

Pride and Prejudice is the second novel by English author Jane Austen, published in 1813. A novel of manners, it follows the character development of Elizabeth Bennet, the protagonist of the book, who learns about the repercussions of hasty judgments and comes to appreciate the difference between superficial goodness and actual goodness.

Description of Harriet Forster:

She married Colonel Forster after the Militia came to Meryton, described as "very young" and "very lately married." By the time the militia leaves Meryton in May, she has known Lydia Bennet for three months and been her intimate friend for two, brought together by good humor and good spirits.
