Sisters, Lara Zor-El and Kara Zor-El, were sent to earth to look after they’re younger cousin Kal-El. But during the destruction of Krypton, they were knocked off course and were sent into the Phantom Zone. Years later they were taken out of the Phantom Zone during Superman’s fight with Zod. Their pods were let free and went to Metropolis bay, there they were found by Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen. The two met there cousin that is older then they remember. They then became Powergirl and Supergirl.
