The vain prince Octavian and his scheming advisor, Cassius, use the magic ocean waters and arcane knowledge to construct castles and plunder their rivals.
In one defenseless town, they capture a young woman named Taesa who is a magic music scholar. She sings an enchanted song and thus begins a journey toward dangerous discoveries affecting the world around her.
The old-yet-young Chronicler, Judith, is witness to the evil deeds and plans of the prince and his advisor, yet she must not interfere or warn anyone in the path of destruction.
