One day, a human girl wakes up to find herself in a strange forest town populated entirely by Pokemon who act as humans do, and soon finds that she herself has been transformed into a strange Pokemon she's never seen before. After befriending a timid and lonesome Kubfu, the two of them learn from the town's guardian deity that the three countries surrounding them have angered their guardian deities, and unless they can bring a stop to this conflict, it'll spell the end of them all and maybe more. Description of Alolan Marowak (English Dub):

Marowak is the owner and primary caretaker of the orphanage where Kubfu (and for that matter, practically all the Forest Sanctuary's orphans) were raised. Having lost his own parents as a young child, he's determined to provide as many orphans as possible with the parental figures and safe homes they need, and his kindness and wisdom has made him a revered figure in his community. He takes in Poipole after Kubfu brings her home, and though he recognizes that he's no replacement for her actual family, tries his best to be there for her in the same way a father would.
