The Manticore is one of the most dangerous monsters in Greek Mythology. He’s part lion / part scorpion / part dragon, also he speaks. We first meet him in his human disguise as the French accented headmaster Dr. Thorn. He fights Percy and company to get to the DiAngelos, but is interrupted by Artemis and her hunters but not before kidnapped Annabeth as he escapes his own death. We later find out he works for Atlas “The General” and is insecure about his role as a monster. He then tries one last time to kill our heroes but is then killed by Dionysus.
