Dionysus is the god of wine / ecstasy / theater / madness and one of the many immortal children of Zeus. In The Lightning Thief he’s introduced as a grumpy & immature cherub who turned middle aged in a trailer park. He’s often seen wearing a leopard print Hawaiian shirt. We learn he’s at Camp Half Blood as punishment after he had his way with a wood nymph who Zeus had his eyes on. He mispronounces names at a laziness, and doesn’t care about any of his charges. But a few he will help people like when he killed the manticore in The Titan’s Curse / vouched for Grover in The Battle of The Labyrinth / and fought in the final battle against Typhon.
