Somewhere in the Mario Bros. multiverse, several years after the plumbers first left their world behind, a mysterious figure in a purple cloak kidnaps them as collateral in his quest to become the most powerful being in the universe. Forced into a hard situation, a more no-nonsense Princess Peach goes seeking the help of the only one strong enough to take the enigmatic Purple Cloak Man down: King Bowser Koopa.
