Synopsis

Based on the book, "The Abandoned" by Paul Gallico, this tells the story of a nine-year-old boy in London named Peter whose parents are always away and his nanny is always distant with him. The nanny does care for him, but what Peter lives and the nanny doesn't is cats. He kept getting in trouble for bringing in stray cats. One night, he rescues a stray cat from getting hit by a truck and he himself gets hit. When he regains consciousness, he sees that he has somehow transformed into a white cat. His nanny shows him away thinking that he's a regular stray cat. He fends for himself on the dirty streets of London and other strays are not so friendly. Except for one. A stray striped tabby named Jennie rescues him and washes him. It gets hard for Peter to explain to Jennie what he's been through. Their newfound friendship is complicated because Jennie really dislikes humans. While they try to figure something out, Jennie teaches Peter the ways of being a cat.
