Melody is 11 years old and like any normal 11 year old girl she like ice cream and hates being told what to do but she has cerebral palsy and cannot speak.she cant use her voice.she goes to a school for kids with “disabilities”.But one day dr katherine post comes to her school and thinks that melody she go to the regular school.her parents are on the fence at first but they let her go.at the school people look at her weird and are being mean to her.she makes a friend rose but she doesn't like to be seen with melody.they go to the mall and to a museum together but when rose sees her other friends she runs over to talk to them.melody also has a neighbor named ms.v she is very nice and always encourages melody to learn.
