Diane Roberta Scott is the biological mother of Lucy and Natalie Scott. Diane learns about Lucy when she falls pregnant in high school to then boyfriend Kevin Roe. Unfortunately, soon after giving birth to Lucy, she promptly abandoned her and subsequently left Kevin to pursue a relationship with Dennis Lee, to whom Diane falls pregnant again a few months after giving Kevin full custody of Lucy with their own daughter, Natalie Rose Scott. Diane asked Kevin for shared custody of their daughter Lucy, which was turned down by Kevin out of fear that Lucy would become like her. This was something that comes as a shock to Lucy after Diane tells her to go find out the truth from her father. After being turned down for custody, Diane began to despise Lucy, also due to the fact that Lucy was raised by Kate Scott, Diane's older sister. Diane's marriage with Dennis came to an end as Dennis tried to kill Diane in order to break away and divorce her. As a result of too much pressure under choosing sides, Diane's younger daughter, Natalie, decides to emancipate herself which was suggested by her boyfriend, now husband, Harvey James Scott.
