Synopsis

"Planet of the Apes" follows the story of an astronaut named Taylor and his crew who crash-land on a mysterious planet where intelligent apes dominate society and humans are mute, primitive creatures. As Taylor struggles to understand this new world, he faces captivity, oppression, and ultimately discovers a shocking truth about the planet's history and his own existence. The film explores themes of evolution, civilization, and the nature of humanity.

Description of Maximus:

Dr. Maximus was a senior member of the orangutan government of Ape City, as "Commissioner for Animal Affairs", and a close ally of Dr. Zaius. He formed part of the investigating committee into Taylor, together with Zaius and the President of the Assembly.
