A biopic about the early solo career of Michael Jackson. In 1978, Michael moved to New York City to star as the Scarecrow in The Wiz. His co-stars were Diana Ross and Nipsey Russell. The soundtrack was produced by Quincy Jones. While living in New York, Michael frequented Studio 54. Here he learned about hip hop and beatboxing. In 1979, Michael broke his nose during a dance routine. He had his first rhinoplasty surgery shortly after. His fifth solo album, Off the Wall, was released on August 10th.
