Obviously the devil with a Slavic deity's misspelled name slapped on for implausible deniability. The actual Chernobog was a god of darkness, but assuredly NOT a satanic god of evil (dark = evil was a Christian concept, not a Slavic one), and wasn't even a prominent figure in the overall mythology at all. Unfortunately, since reliable information on him is so scarce (thanks, crusades) he's got it even worse than Hades in the modern day.
