Synopsis

The My Lai massacre was a war crime committed by the United States Army on March 16, 1968. Between 347 and 504 unarmed civilians (old men, women, children, and infants) were murdered by US soldiers. It was the largest publicized massacre of civilians by US forces in the 20th century.

Seymour Myron "Sy" Hersh (1937-) is an American investigative journalist and political writer. He gained recognition in 1969 for exposing the My Lai massacre and its cover-up during the Vietnam War, for which he received the 1970 Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting.
