Maelis is a fanatical and extremist member of the Darkside Inhabitants who believes that their powers are a divine gift and that they should cleanse the world of human impurities. His religious zeal and obsession with prophecy make him a dangerous figure within the clan. Maelis leads a faction that is willing to do anything, including violence and betrayal, to "purify" their people’s legacy and bring about his vision of a perfect world ruled by Darkside Inhabitants. He believes that the human kingdoms must be conquered, and he sees Eryndor’s reluctance to take control as a weakness that must be eradicated.
