Synopsis

After their battle with the mysterious assassin group and the demons in the previous season, the main characters of the series can finally take a break and live their daily life. However, A mysterious clan of ninjas who call themselves the Black Spider clan comes to plan a terrorist attack towards both Kyoto and Edo to bring down the Shogunate. Led by a mysterious man called Fuma, the ninjas began causing trouble for the main characters. It is revealed that this man also hides a dark past about his ninja life during the 10th shogun's regime. Saya finds out that he is also the one that killed her mother. Not only that, a mysterious group of assassins who called themselves the Naraku also appeared to cause another trouble for the main characters. The Naraku and the Black Spider ninjas are revealed to be working together and they were employed by a mysterious force of evil who sought to overthrow the shogunate due to personal grudges.

Description of Saya Otozuki (Half-human and half-rasetsu, fourth protagonist):

During the last half of the first season, it turns out that Kiyomasa is not Saya's biological mother. But instead, her actual mother is a 173 years old half-breed Rasetsu who fell in love with Tadayoshi, but dies after she gave birth to Saya. After knowing this, Saya begin to accept that she is not human and embrace her demonic heritage, but still wanting to avenge Kiyomasa's death at the hands of Fūma, because even though she is not Saya's real mother, both of them share a strong bond and deeply care each other, and Saya still loved her as though she really was her mother, and she was "happy to be with someone like her".
