Twilight Sparkle and her friends are informed by Princess Celestia that Tirek has escaped from Tarturus and is planing to traverse time and space to gain more power to take over Equestria. They also learn that the Everfree Forest is becoming more wild and dangerous to traverse. So it's up to Twilight and her friends to not only retrieve and recapture Tirek, but also learn the secret history of the Everfree Forest before it's too late.
