Merida is not your average, typical run of the mill princess. Instead of waiting for someone to rescue her, she'll rather rescue herself, with the help of her bow and arrow. her sword plus her pet horse, Angus. She lives with her mother Queen Elinor, who was once turned into a bear. She was originally from Scotland, but she moved to Pixar Hollow after a civil war in her old home in the kingdom of DunBroch caused the tragic death of her father King Fergus and her teenaged triplet brothers, Harris, Hubert and Hamish. She lives in a castle right next door to her best friend Rapunzel. Being a cocky sort of a princess, she likes to brag how good she is at horse riding, doing archery, woodcarving and sword fighting, much to her friends and family's dismay. But she really does have a kind heart and is willing to help others in need. That proves once and for all that Merida isn't only a princess, but also a hero who has a heart of a champion.
