Synopsis

Our world is one of many realms of existence, one of these realms is known as Outworld, a dark and desolate land that is ruled by it's emperor Shao Kahn who has conquered and merged realms with Outworld and has been seeking to do the same to earth for a millenia, to prevent a total invasion from taking place. The beings known as The Elder Gods created the Mortal Kombat tournament, a fighting tournament that occurs every 50 years where the ultimate victor is granted immortality, if Outworld can win 10 consecutive tournaments they will be able invade and take control of Earthrealm without any intervention, as of now Outworld has won 9 tournaments, and the faith of Earthrealm hangs in the balance.

Description of Shang Tsung:

Originally being from Earthrealm but now residing in Outworld Shang Tsung is a powerful sorcerer, one of Shao Kahn's top servants, and the recurring host of the Mortal Kombat tournament, he comes to tell Raiden that the tournament is beginning very soon and that he must gather all the "champions" he can get if he wants any chance of Earthrealm's survival.
