Once a generation, an ancient tournament is held — created to determine whether Earthrealm is saved or annexed by the vile Sorcerer of Outworld, Shang Tsung and the Emperor of Outworld, Shao Kahn. The tournament is called “MORTAL KOMBAT”. If the forces of Outworld claim ten victories over their opposition, they have the right to conquer the realm of Earth. Thus far, Outworld has won nine straight victories, making the upcoming tournament the tenth, hence, being Earthrealmers final chance to defend their realm.
