The film starts in Hollywood where we meet Johnny Cage a movie star who is recruited by Cole Young to participate in Mortal Kombat when they are attacked by Jade and Kitana, but are saved by Raiden who informs them they will have to go to Outworld for the beginning of the game. Mortal Kombat, the team consisting of Liu Kang, Sonya, Jax, Cole and Cage they will have to defeat their enemies if they want to save Earth, in the meantime a Sub-Zero appears seeking revenge against Raiden's team and especially Hanzo Hasashi for After killing their brother, in the tournament they face dangerous new enemies and old acquaintances somehow resurrected, while Kitana and Liu Kang develop their questions about the tournament. Post Credits Scene: Shang Tsung goes to the King of Outworld where he is humiliated by a shadow, there we see Quan Chi and Noob Saibot who are ordered to enter the Tournament when the shadow reveals itself to be Shao Khan.
