Synopsis

Earthrealm has lost the last 9 Mortal Kombat Tournaments and is on the brink of being absorbed into Outworld by the conqueror Shao Kahn... It is up to Raiden to ensure that the Champions of Earthrealm are prepared for the biggest battle of their lives... Meanwhile, an old rivalry is about to be sent into a blazing fury, as the Lin Kuei assassin Bi-Han, codename Sub-Zero, will have yet another showdown with the Shirai Ryu ninja Hanzo Hasashi, now the vengeful wraith Scorpion... Description of Shang Tsung:

As a Sorcerer of Outworld, Shang Tsung was a previous champion of the tournament... That was, until the Great Kung Lao beat him and his streak of 9 consecutive victories was snapped... He now serves as the overseer of the tournament, a role bestowed unto him by Shao Kahn as punishment for his failure 10 tournaments ago... As well as this, he has been cursed to look like an elderly gentleman and must steal the souls of fighters who failed in order to survive... He hopes that Outworld's reigning champion will NOT repeat his mistakes...
