Synopsis

The evil sorcerer Shang Tsung is making an attempt to open a portal between Earthrealm and the Outworld to exact his revenge against his former brothers from the Shaolin Order of Light. It has been the quest of his lifetime, and with the help from the Ninja Clan of Lin Kuei Assassins he is a step closer to achieving his goal. The Lord Protector of Earthrealm, Raiden and Earth's Champions are the only one's standing in his way.

Description of Liu Kang:

A Shaolin Monk who is in the near the end of his Youxia or Musha Shugyō (training in warriorship by wandering around the lands), finds himself in jail after breaking a fight between some Black Dragon thugs and regular chinese citizens. While serving his breef time in jail, he meets martial artist Johnny Cage and invites him to the Order of Light Temple. Originally a member of the White Lotus Society himself, Liu Kang is ready to come back home only to find out about the assasination of his former Master, Shujinko.
