The Lion King of the jungle has just been shot by poachers, a successful plot by the tiger Shere Khan to take over the throne and rule the jungle. Simba sees that in the future he will face Shere Khan, The loyal subjects raise Simba to become the future king. Over the course of the show, Simba, his son Junior, and his friends gain magical powers to fight an army of rats in the sewers of New York and compete in the World Cup, and in the next story a human child is born to protect the lands of forgotten time and dinosaurs from a war waged by the wicked sorceress, Maya. That gets resolved through a soccer tournament.
