Description of Francis:

Francis is Florence’s son, Howard’s nephew, and Noemí’s love interest. His father, Richard, died when Francis was just a boy, and Francis carries around a picture of him to remember him by. This is significant because Richard was forced to stay in High Place against his will, much like Catalina, and his suicide was a final act of rebellion against the Doyles. That Francis carries around his picture is an indicator that he is not as committed to Doyles as the other members of the family are.
