Six Years after the events of Operation Snake Eater, Naked Snake's former unit, FOX, breaks their allegiance with the CIA and goes renegade. After Snake himself is targeted and captured by the rogue unit, he must find a way to escape and discover FOX's intentions on the peninsula known as San Hieronymo.
