A loose alliance of beings— all reputed to have had "a taste of damnation"— are drawn together by Doctor Strange to combat the sudden appearance of the demonic Lilin. While the disparate warriors are openly hostile to certain others on the team, they work together out of a need to deal with the more imminent threat posed by the demons. However, they were unaware of the full magnitude of their predicament, as the Lilin were merely a diversion.
