Matilda, is a highly intelligent young girl who faces neglect and mistreatment from her parents. Matilda finds solace in reading at the library, where she develops a strong moral compass. She uses her cleverness to play pranks on her parents and later discovers she has the ability to move objects with her mind. Matilda befriends her kind teacher, Miss Honey, and helps her reclaim her home from the abusive headmistress, Miss Trunchbull. Eventually, Matilda's powers disappear, and she convinces her parents to let her live with Miss Honey instead of moving to Spain. Through her journey, Matilda learns the importance of standing up for what is right and using her abilities to help others.
