Synopsis

Seventeen-year-old Cassia Reyes lives an ordinary life in the Society, a picture-perfect civilization where your occupation, your spouse, and even the day of your death are all chosen by the infallible Officials. On the day of her "Matched Banquet," Cassia's joy increases exponentially when Xander Carrow, her childhood friend, is selected as her husband. But when a glitch occurs in the system, entering a second boy into her datafiles, Cassia begins to wonder...is the Society as wise as she has grown up believing? Follow Cassia as she fights to understand the evils that her government hides under its guise of altruism, led to the truth by people who risk their lives to show her a glimpse of what real knowledge, real love, and real choice could look like. Description of Mr. Abran Reyes:

Abran is the devoted father of Cassia and Bram Reyes, working as an Official in the historical department. As Cassia's world begins to come apart at the seams, Abran's accidental misplacement of Grandfather's DNA sample (which is meant to be preserved for distant-future resurrection) brings the roof crashing down on the entire family's life. But Cassia wonders...how could such a high-ranking Official make such a foolish mistake? And does her father know as much about Grandfather's illegal activities as she now does?
