Marvel Spotlight is focus more on "grounded, character-driven stories" and less about impacting the larger MCU narrative. Head of streaming Brad Winderbaum explained that it was created as a way to indicate to audiences that they did not need to watch any other MCU projects to understand Spotlight series, as is the case with reading Marvel Comics.
