Trapped in a steel body controlled by an AI, his human side fights for control. ​Man-Thing: Sheriff Brian Lazarus investigates gruesome bodies in Citrusville, unveiling corporate corruption linked to government experiment Project: Gladiator. The killer is the tragic Man-Thing, a mutated Ted Sallis who acts as an unstoppable force reacting violently to fear. ​Silhouette: Daughter of a cult-involved soldier, Janelle Chord channels Darkforce energy to manipulate shadows. Paralyzed after a botched police sting, she uses specialized crutches and abilities to fight crime. ​Justice (Vance Astrovik): Warned by his future self about his telekinesis, Vance accidentally kills his abusive father during an argument. After serving time at the Vault, he seeks redemption as Justice, eventually leading the New Warriors and joining the Avengers. ​Blue Marvel: Scientist Adam Brashear gains anti-matter powers in a 1960s accident. Eventually he is forced into retirement by President Kennedy due to Civil Rights-era racial tensions after his identity as a Black hero is exposed. ​Elsa Bloodstone: Trained brutally by her immortal father, she inherits the mystical Bloodgem, granting her superhuman abilities to hunt monsters. ​Sleepwalker: A Mindscape guardian trapped in student Rick Sheridan's subconscious, emerging only when Rick sleeps to fight crime with "warp vision." ​Blink: Clarice Ferguson overcomes fear of her portal abilities, sacrificing herself (and surviving) to defeat the alien Phalanx and save her fellow mutants. ​Songbird: Abused runaway Melissa Gold transforms from villain Screaming Mimi into the solid-sound-manipulating hero Songbird after joining the Thunderbolts.
