Description of Benjamin Grimm (The Thing):

In Chairverse, Ben is the everyman of the Fantastic Four. He likes to sit on the couch, crack open a beer and watch the game, or play a game of poker with his friends. He’s also got a bit of a temper, as seen by his interactions with Johnny. At heart, he’s just a big softie though. Sure, he misses parts of his life before he was a big rock man, but he wouldn’t trade his adventures with the FF for anything. Ben’s Jewish heritage is important to the character. This was subtextual in Lee and Kirby’s original run, and became explicit in later comics. Thus, this is reflected in the casting.
