Nick Fury is a legendary spy, former soldier, and former director of S.H.I.E.L.D. He began his career as a war hero, commanding the Howling Commandos to countless victories. For this, he was recruited by the newly-created S.H.I.E.L.D. in the decades that followed, being kept young and in peak condition by the Infinity Formula. He was also invited to Leonardo da Vinci's Great Wheel as Gemini. Despite S.H.I.E.L.D.'s absence in H.A.M.M.E.R.'s reign, Fury triumphed over both Hydra and Leviathan, executing Baron Strucker and wiping out most of Leviathan. However, the cost was his son Mikel and many of Fury's friends.
